Chris Burger's Luv Phenomena: Like Dat!

It’s like a beautiful blur…

To set a goal that involves 17 players, producers, singers, emcees, engineers, - it’s a lift.

And made so much easier with love and a mission.

The mission is to do it with the purpose of celebrating a commitment to clean living.

Love is what makes it all work.

The goal was to do it within the time frame of 4 days. The exact dates and days that 17 years ago I made a major life decision to stop the dumb. On Friday Aug 21st 2009, I was at the end of a run as they say- getting high and drunk and I knew that by Monday the 24th, I would be at day one of sobriety once again. This time it worked.

The concept of “Like Dat” was to celebrate that small changes could have major results. And that it cannot be done alone.

That small change was to not pick up the drink or drug and the major result was that I could feel again. I could feel pain, I could feel loss. I could feel regret. I could also feel hunger, I could feel love, and I could feel peace. My life has completely changed. There is always going to be rough stretches, seemingly insurmountable challenges, jealousy, haterisms, but there is also the good good. The power of self determination, the light of community, the satisfaction of service, the calm of a quiet mind…..The joy of making bangerz with dope musicians. The journey of channeling through the ether beautiful sights and sounds.

The result? Touching hearts, inspiring minds, and communing in spirit.

Know the Love and move your body. Heal yourself and help somebody.

This is Luv Phenomena.
